This is one of our specialties: finding or having made statues that are larger than life. Below are Japanese Guardians, Nio made of wood and bronze. We began the project by sending 18" tall Nio to the wood carvers, who carved the statues out of songle logs. We then sent the wood ones to bronze makers who took molds directly from the wood statues. The amazing thing is that the carvers and bronze makers can both work from pictures if they don't have a model. In this gallery there is also a Bronze Vajradakini, a Bodhidharma carved from a log, several Kuan Yin Buddha in stone and in wood, several dragons, and even a Hindu Krisna. Also, several Jizo or Chinese Dizangs--in wood and stone, and a teraa cotta warrior.
